Friends of the Huckleberry and the Town of Blacksburg are organizing a cleanup session for the Blacksburg section of the Huckleberry Trail on Saturday, September 22nd from 10AM to Noon.
Volunteers will meet at the municipal parking lot at the corner of Miller and Harrell Streets and then be assigned to work on a section of trail.
The workday will focus on cleaning up any dead trees, downed wood, trash, and trimming some of the overgrown hedges. The Huckleberry Trail in Blacksburg has become a little messy due to the construction on the Southgate Interchange project and with the interchange project nearing completion, this workday will be to help restore it.
It would be appreciated if those individuals who own chain saws or hedge trimmers (power or hand operated) would bring them to the workday.
