In early January, the Blacksburg Town Council met to make recommendations for its Capital Improvement Plan. At this meeting, Bill Ellenbogen (President and founding member of the Friends of the Huckleberry Trail) told the council that a bridge should be considered to direct trail user traffic over Prices Fork Road. This road has become increasingly dangerous for trail pedestrians where it bisects the route. The council agreed to add it to the proposed 5-year plan, which will be voted on later this month (January, 2019). The Montgomery County newspaper, the News Messenger, published an article on the proposal (use the search feature to find “Blacksburg on the Move”).
